Dutch chapter of UN women in The Hague
The Dutch chapter of UN Women, the United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women, was officially launched in The Hague last week.
The Dutch chapter of UN Women supports women and girls here in breaking through the glass ceiling and eliminating the effects of discrimination. The new chapter will also work from The Hague to improve the lives of women elsewhere in the world.
The Dutch chapter of UN Women has an important diplomatic task. It is allowed to address ministers and other UN organisations on behalf of women and girls. The chapter pledges to keep a critical eye on the Dutch state, just as UN Women New York does with the 193 members of the United Nations. It will orchestrate campaigns for women’s rights and against violence by involving men and women here.
