Dutchbuzz podcast: the 'voice' of the international community in The Hague!
Broadcast every Tuesday on the city broadcaster, Den Haag FM, the weekly radio programme, Dutchbuzz, is a listening ear and a reflective voice for the international community in the Netherlands. Should you miss it, it’s also available as a podcast on www.dutchbuzz.nl to listen to at your convenience.
‘Our programme is full of news, views and interviews that tell you all about what’s happening in The Hague,‘ says its editor, Lily-Anne Stroobach. ‘The programme has been running for eight years now, and has a strong following in the international community in The Hague. What makes it unique is that it’s the only English language news programme in The Hague, plus the fact that it’s made by a team of international residents who know all about the interests and concerns of this community.’
‘Every Tuesday, the programme kicks off with the talking point of the week, whether it be the municipal elections in The Hague, developments at our popular beaches, or an interview with one of the city’s many prominent visitors. As this is the city of international peace and justice, we cover news from the international courts and tribunals and many of the NGOs in the city . We are concerned about local health issues, the environment and animal welfare, and the provenance of the food at our markets and other outlets. We bring you news about wining and dining in the city, the social and cultural events in the week ahead, and our local art and theater critics give you their opinions on current exhibitions and performances in the city. Our sport correspondent will, for example, keep you up to date on the exciting Volvo Ocean Race that has its finish in The Hague this summer!’
‘The Dutchbuzz team of internationals and local contributors includes presenters, journalists, writers, critics, and sound technicians from at least 4 continents. Most of them view The Hague as their home and share a passion for what’s happening in this city of ours!’
