The Hague to host 2nd International Cyber Security Week in September 2017
In September 2017, The Hague will welcome the 2nd International Cyber Security Week (CSW), a cluster of events organized by various participating organizations which aim to investigate the subject, and promote the importance of cybersecurity. The event is organised by the leading security cluster in Europe, The Hague Security Delta in cooperation with The Municipality of The Hague, The Hague Convention Bureau and Deloitte.
The Hague Security Delta is home to 400 security related companies and institutions and combines knowledge and expertise in the field of cybersecurity. Today, major international developments and breakthroughs in forensics, national security, critical infrastructure and cybersecurity originate in The Hague.
“Cybersecurity is one of the biggest challenges in today’s society, but it also provides many business opportunities” emphasised Saskia Bruines, The Hague’s alderman for the Knowledge Economy, International Affairs, Youth and Education, “These topics will be explored during the event in much detail.”
The excellent knowledge infrastructure in security and cybersecurity also aligns with The Hague’s reputation as the city of Peace & Justice. Renowned international institutions such as Europol, the international Criminal Court and Tribunal as well as the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons are based in The Hague, all striving towards making the world a more secure and a more peaceful place.
