First “MasterClass” for Chinese companies in WTC The Hague

Today WTC The Hague was the scene of our first “The Hague MasterClass” for Chinese companies. The event was organized in cooperation with the Asian Business Center and Heussen Lawyers & Civil Law Notary. Over 70 participants, including Chinese entrepreneurs and expats, attended the kick-off masterclass. The first topic was about Employment law in The Netherlands.

Masterclass

Setting up business in The Netherlands
In recent years, more and more Chinese companies have found their way to the Netherlands to set up their company and to expand their business in Europe. After the establishment, one of the top priorities is the hiring of employers. The Dutch employment law is generally known for its high degree of protection for employees. This masterclass provided an opportunity for the Chinese entrepreneurs to have a better understanding of the Dutch employment law from an employer’s perspective.

“As a part of “Invest in Holland”, WFIA has assisted foreign companies for more than 16 years.  We do not only support the Chinese companies when establishing their business, but are also very active with our Investor Relations program. This masterclass is proof of that” – Ilja van Haaren (Executive Director WFIA)

Speakers Ying Cui (Head of China Desk) and Nils van Dijkman (Employment Law Lawyer) of the international law firm Heussen gave an interactive workshop on employment law where the main issues and developments in the Dutch employment law were explained. The mainly Chinese attendees were able to follow the presentation and workshop in both Chinese and English.

“I would like express my gratitude for the WFIA and ABC to organize this masterclass. This is a great knowledge platform for Chinese companies.” – Mr. Zhang Guosheng (Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy).

Together with the Asian Business Center (ABC) we will organize these classes throughout the year. The next MasterClass will be held in June 2017 and will focus on Dutch tax regulations. If you would like to attend the upcoming MasterClass, please send an email to info@asianbusinesscenter.nl.
