Platform China Holland Innovation Center launched in The Hague
The Hague, 24 May 2016 – Prior to the opening of Europe Startup Fest, a festival where startups, investors, developers and companies meet, the China-Holland Innovation Day took place yesterday in the WTC in The Hague. By cutting the red ribbon at this event, the new China Holland Innovation Centre (CHIC) platform is officially launched. Close cooperation between Sino-Dutch innovative clusters is thus sealed.
China Holland Innovation Day
At the China Holland Innovation Day speakers were programmed such as Walter Feng (Huawei), Floriske Deutman (DSBP) Lies Jansen (NWP) and Werner Wu (CHIC). The participating Chinese delegation headed by Mr. Zhanshan Han was officially welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, on behalf Startup Fest Europe.
The collaboration with innovative Sino-Dutch clusters and creating business opportunities were the main topics at the China Holland Innovation Day. The event was therefore for InnovationQuarter an appropriate moment for signing an MoU with the Chinese company HopeFull Grain & Oil Group and a Confirmation Letter with the China Holland Innovation Center (CHIC). By cutting the red ribbon, a traditional Chinese ceremony, the new CHIC platform is officially launched.
China Holland Innovation Center (CHIC)
CHIC will support internationalization of Chinese companies to the Netherlands and Europe. It will facilitate access to global innovation and technology. CHIC will provide business services to its investors and create facilities to share knowledge, experience and contacts among Chinese companies and local counter parts. CHIC also strives to develop itself into a platform for training and research that will strengthen technology exchange between China and the Netherlands. The project was assisted by InnovationQuarter, WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA) and the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA).
Mr. Werner Wu, founder CHIC, is very pleased with the newly opened office in The Hague: “The reason why we set up our centre in the Netherlands, is because Holland is a very innovative country full of ‘business passion’. We experience a lot of similarities between the Chinese and the Dutch. The Chinese government encourages companies to become more innovative and look for business opportunities abroad for innovation and internationalization. We are very happy with all the support provided by InnovationQuarter, WFIA and NFIA. With our vision, we are confident about making CHIC a success in The Hague!”
“The city of The Hague is open to the world”, states Mrs. Ingrid van Engelshoven, Deputy Mayor of the City of The Hague. “Innovation is our core business. CHIC will feel at home in The Hague. It’s an opportunity for both the city and the China Holland Innovation Centre.”
