RUSSOFT association opens office in The Hague
he Russian Software Developers Association (RUSSOFT) opens an office in The Hague, The Netherlands. President of RUSSOFT Mr. Valentin Makarov signed an MOU which confirms the expansion to The Hague earlier today during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The office will serve to represent RUSSOFT members and members of the Association of Russian Innovative Regions (AIRR).
In the Memorandum of understanding (MOU) both RUSSOFT and AIRR, the City of The Hague and The WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency agreed to actively assist each other in establishing bilateral relations in the IT industry. The signing of the MOU was part of a larger ceremony during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in which the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich agreed to install an innovation working group in the framework of the Russia-Netherlands Joint Economic Commission.

“The expansion of RUSSOFT to The Hague evolves from the persistent efforts of the WFIA. The thriving IT cluster in The Hague region offers numerous opportunities for mutually beneficial ways of cooperation with Russian and Belarusian partners ” according to Henk Kool, Deputy Mayor of The Hague and Chairman of the Board of Participants of the WFIA.
“The opening of an office in Western Europe especially in The Hague was a natural and long anticipated step for RUSSOFT as the largest association of exporting IT companies. I am convinced that our very positive long term cooperation with WFIA together with creation of the office will grant our members a convenient entrance to markets in Western Europe and will lead to prosperous collaboration” says Mr. Valentin Makarov, President of RUSSOFT.
St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF)
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a leading international economic and business forum held annually in Russia, where The Netherlands has been invited as guest of honour. 2013 is the Netherlands-Russia year, a year in which the Netherlands and Russia emphasize their longstanding bilateral relations.

WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA)
The WFIA assists international companies in establishing, expanding or relocating their operations to the WestHolland region. The WFIA was founded in 2000 by the cities of The Hague, Leiden, Delft and Zoetermeer and the Chamber of Commerce of The Hague and the Haaglanden. The municipality of Lansingerland joined in December 2008. The WFIA is also supported by the Province of South Holland.
