Company of the month October | First Line Software
First Line Software, a premier provider of near shore and offshore custom software development and technology enablement services, recently established its European presence in The Hague, the Netherlands.
First Line provides software R&D and application development services in the areas of enterprise mobility, cloud computing, online media, retail, digital marketing, and enterprise content management to both industry leaders and growth companies and startups around the world. First Line operates multiple software development centers in Russia, employing a staff of 375. In 2012 and 2013, First Line was recognized by IAOP (International Association of Outsourcing Professionals) in its influential IAOP Global Outsourcing ranking of the world’s top 100 outsourcing service providers based on size and growth, customer references, organizational competencies and management capabilities.
Our team has over 20 years of experience delivering complex software development projects to the most demanding customers around the globe”, says Alexander Pozdniakov, CEO, First Line Software, “We pride ourselves on providing customers with high end services combining top software engineering skills, proven project management methodologies, and the focus on partnership and long-term value creation.” Their customers include Dell, Bonnier Group, RIA Novosti, and others. For Bonnier Group, one of Europe’s largest publishing and media holdings, First Line Software helped implement a large program to modernize their online content management, successfully migrating over 60 websites for Bonnier’s newspapers and magazines, including the hugely popular di.se and expressen.se. For Dell, First Line operates a dedicated development center providing R&D services for several lines of Dell’s software products.
“First Line Software is investing in the growth of their European business in the coming years, and the Netherlands is an excellent location to launch our Western European presence”, continues Pozdniakov.“ The geographical and cultural proximity between our two countries make Russia a natural choice for near shore software development for Dutch companies. The Hague is a natural location for First Line Software as it is a recognized ICT hub, just like my hometown of St. Petersburg is in Russia, with a convenient location and a high concentration of hi-tech businesses in the area. And separate thanks go to our friends at WestHolland Foreign Investment Agency (WFIA) for all their expert help in facilitating the launch of our Dutch operations in a very streamlined manner. Their energy and professionalism have really been extremely supportive.
In June 2013, when the WFIA delegation was in St Petersburg to sign the MoU with RUSSOFT, Mr. Henk Kool, Vice Mayor of The Hague, also personally visited First line Software to discuss the opportunities in the Netherlands. “I’m very impressed by First Line’s track record. Setting up a presence in the Hague will be a great contribution to the existing ICT cluster”, says Mr. Henk Kool.
